Are you looking for a game day snack? These wings using our mango habanero sauce are the perfect accompaniment to indulge in. And these. wings. are. delicious. The recipe as written provides a nice heat level, while not overpowering the balance of mango and habanero. If you are looking for a little (or a lot) more heat, feel free to increase the quantity of the hot sauce, or cut up a habanero and toss it in the saucepan before covering your wings in this delicious, buttery mess.
Prep Time: 5 minutes
Cook Time: 65 minutes
Wings (approximately 12 wings)
2 lbs chicken wings
1 tbsp baking powder
1 tsp salt
Preheat oven to 250F. Pat the chicken wings dry with a paper towel and place them in a bowl. Sprinkle the wings with baking powder and mix to ensure chicken has been coated. This will help the chicken to crisp up as it bakes. Lay the chicken on a sheet tray covered with aluminum foil, parchment paper, or a silicone map to make for easy clean up. Place the sheet tray in the oven once it has reached 250F. Bake for 30 minutes. After 30 minutes, increase the temperature to 425F and bake for an additional 30 minutes. Then flip the chicken and place back in the oven for 5 minutes to brown.
Sauce
1/2 cup Burns & McCoy Mango Habanero Sauce
5 tbsp butter
1 tsp salt
1/2 tsp onion powder
1/4 tsp garlic powder
1/2 tsp sugar
Prepare the sauce while chicken is in the oven cooking. Over medium-low heat, melt the butter. Add the hot sauce, salt, onion powder, garlic powder, and sugar. Stir to combine.
Once the chicken is done, toss the chicken and the sauce together in a bowl until the meat is coated. Move chicken to a platter and serve. Feel free to drizzle the remainder of the sauce on top of the wings or on the size for dipping.
